Manu Guigou signe un fabuleux scratch dans la première spéciale du rallye puis laisse le commandement à Olivier Privé. Ce dernier bénéficie d’une position de départ et tient tête à Stéphane Chambon. Fred Sauvan et Jean-Eric Petit ont abandonné rapidement.
