Très instable, la météo oblige les équipages à des choix pneumatiques draconiens. Giandomenico Basso et Nicolas Vouilloz terminent cette journée à égalité parfaite, mais Freddy Loix, grâce à un choix osé, revient tout près des deux leaders à la faveur de la dernière boucle, longue de quatre spéciales.
