La première étape révèle un scénario incroyable : la caravane du Mondial passe sa journée entre les aéroports de Buenos Aires et Cordoba. Les ES 2 à 8 sont annulées et Mikko Hirvonen prend la tête de l’épreuve après les 4,80 kilomètres chronométrés des deux super spéciales dipsutées.
