Peu à peu, Sébastien Loeb prend ses distances avec Mikko Hirvonen et termine la journée avec une avance qui doit lui permettre de négocier avec sérénité la courte dernière étape.
Après la sortie de Gigi Galli, Chris Atkinson remonte sur Henning Solberg puis Dani Sordo pour terminer la journée sur la troisième place du podium.
