C’est enfin parti pour ce rallye d’Argentine, dans le brouillard et le vent ! Sébastien Loeb attaque fort afin de prendre les devants, ce qu’il parvient à faire malgré la résistance forcenée de Marcus Gronholm. Longtemps troisième, Petter Solberg abandonne définitivement la course, moteur cassé. Quatrième avant la dernière spéciale de la journée, Dani Sordo rétrograde à la huitième place suite à des problèmes hydrauliques.
